I agree it looks somewhat similar to our burbs, but if someone randomly asked me what part of Atlanta that was - I would have to ask them if they were joking with me.
Are you referring to the Houston picture?

in all fairness to A&M, there are parts of metro Atlanta that are pretty piney. but as it's been stated before, the only part of Texas that is really comparable to the scenery in Atlanta is upper East Texas

It's cool. I was just looking at Google maps (I'm so BORED) of the Houston area and just seen some similarities with the Atlanta area.

oh, c'mon now, john lol. that particular scene doesn't look that unlike Atlanta. as you stated, the only real giveaway is the closeness of the houses

There are neighborhoods near me where the houses are actully closer than those, but I have to admit I have not seen a part of Atlanta where the only tall trees are pines. And I have lived here for a long time now.

I admit there are some similarities, but to me it just doesn't look quite right to be mistaken for Atlanta. Just my opinion, though.

One big difference is the ROAD. Even in neighborhoods (judging from Google), Houston has concrete roads while Atlanta has asphalt of all shades.

of course, hardwoods are pretty much just as dominant in Atlanta as pines are. but I remember seeing some suburban neighborhoods where the pines are similar to those. mostly on the southside, as I recall

I guess, only someone who is very observant would be able to point out that these shots were in fact not Atlanta, as you did.
