the trip across I-80 , through Nebraska can seem endless. I have to say , Nebraska is the leader in boring , because of I-80............ There are the Sand Hills, Omaha , a few spots along the Missouri River , but , these are not on the main route across this long state.

If you drop down and take Kansas , its a little better , not much , and the road surface is worse.I like to go north to SD and across, at lest there are some hills........... Not much doubt , crossing the Great Planes , can be boring , just the nature of the place , in winter , its worse. Glad I do not live there , for sure !

Did anybody mention Delaware? Didn't feel like reading through 33 pages of this. While it is a kid friendly place, it really isn't much to do. You get tired of running down to Rehobeth after awhile. Wilmington is the the city of the entire stay, and that's not much there either. They try so hard to be Philly, but someone didn't tell them they failed.

There's a lot of states with just boring routes to drive on, like parts of West Texas sucks, really.

But what I didn't like was Wyoming and Montana. Some of the states up in the northwest I'm not very interested in.

Washington and Oregon are very scenic states-espcially in the west.

Surly you must consider the " wet" side of these States the most scenic ? SE Wa. and NE Or. are very hot places in the summer , almost a desert.

Yes, I realize that eastern WA and OR are in the rain shadow of the cascades. In terms of lush greenery western WA and OR can't be beat. Mt. Olympus, Mt. Rainer, Mt. Hood. I can't believe Portland and Seattle were close to 105F yesterday. They have been having a severe heatwave by their standards.

Texas, when you cross on I10-20-30, the highlight is the stink from the oil refineries. I drive around it now.

Default not the mountain west

not any of the mountain west states. while the cities aren't the biggest (except denver) the scenary out there is truly beautiful. i was amazed everywhere i went out in Wyoming, Colorado, and Idaho.

but everystate has "boring" parts. however, everystate has cool parts too.

Indeed. And sometimes one person's boring parts is another one's favourite...
