We all know that the whole Caribbean is the West Indies, but people in here arguing should know that I'm only referring to black Caribbean immigrants since I put Toronto in the poll. Toronto doesn't have much Caribbean Hispanics.

So the other races from those "black" Islands are excluded? I am black Jamaican, but white, lebanese, chinese, Indian, Jewish Jamaicans should be included as well.

I just wanted to clarify, because you have no idea how many people in North America are ignorant to the fact that there are all races of people in the West Indies. My white Jamaican friends get questioned all the time.

exactly. Even before i looked at this thread i knew exactly who you were speaking of. I understand that cuba, pr, dr are part of the Caribbean but culturally their far from it.

guyana feels more like a west indian nation then cuba, dr, or rico.

I work with a white Jamaican shuttle driver right now at the hotel.

Every single island has every single race in the Caribbean Blacks are just the majority that's all.

True but 90 percent of jamaicans like most west indians are black so if you were to dodge the other racial west indians then the population of jamaicans, haitians, Barbadians would still be very close.

I think your criteria works better for Trinidadian or Guyanese or Surinamese where factually blacks/indians equally make up their racial background in both america and their homelands.

If i counted just the black guyanese in nyc then my facts on guyanese numbers would be way off. Not the same for jamaicans, and haitians though. But whites, and other racial Haitian, and jamaicans should be counted as well.
