According to some people in the ongoing Texas thread, less than half of these cities are in the South.

I think this would come out to personal preference at this point. I would choose San Antonio because I’m more comfortable around the hispanic community. Yes, Tampa has them too. And closer to my nationality too, but I’m not a Tampa kind of person.

Quite frankly, to me it would look more like this:

Miami

[gap]

New Orleans

[Gap]

Atlanta

[gap]

Austin
Nashville
Dallas
Houston
Orlando (underrated downtown, and a separate, massive tourist district)

[gap]

Memphis
Tampa
San Antonio

Cities with the best nightlife districts: Miami, New Orleans, Austin, Nashville, Dallas. The other cities all have fun places to go out, but the districts make the experience even better.

San Antonio actually has decent nightlife. The Riverwalk is a cool and unique experience with great nightlife, but there are other areas like La Cantera. There is decent nightlife spread across the city. On top of that, Austin is only an hour away. The Square in San Marcos is only 40 minutes away, which is also a great bar district.

Depending on your salary, if you are wanting to move to TX, the best cities to look into are San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston, in no particular order. Each city is great in its own way and it comes down to personal preference.

Isn't New Orleans the obvious choice? People literally travel to New Orleans for the nightlife alone...

I don't think it's the obvious choice, just going by the poll. Personally, I prefer Atlanta's scene because it's more fitting for what I like.
