There are a few places near me in Lawrence that are “takeout-buffet“ style restaurants that don’t also function as convenience/corner stores. Do the same exist in NYC, and if so would they be called “delis” or “bodegas”?
Bodega is a one stop shop. Groceries, sandwiches/food and gas station stuff. So naw those wouldn’t count. Bodegas in the traditional sense are pretty common Philly and Bmore, less so in Boston. They also exist in small places like Woonsocket and in Providence.
This bodega in Woonsocket (I’ve been in it, amazing sandwiches) is called “Dominican Deli Market”

So is there a good term for “Latin Corner Store Buffet” places?
I think that New England doesn’t have many Mexicans. Anyone who knows better can feel free to correct me. I didn’t think Florida had many either. I associate it so much more with the Caribbean.
Florida has a lot of Mexicans. If I'm not mistaken, Mexico is the number one source of immigration for Florida these days.

Jersey has a little more of an upscale version of Bodega's imo, but the quality isn't as good. Its not the same. I found a lot of the equivalents in New Brunswick and Jersey City.
Florida didn't have any. 7-Elevens and Wawas were the most similar.
A large chunk of the "bacon egg and cheese" people eat in NYC has fake bacon on it due to the prevalence of Muslim owned delis, and I think a lot of people don't even realize this.

Yeah I definitely misspoke on that one. Forgive me, I lived in a boring suburb of Orlando that really only had chain restaurants and 7/11s.
