A very simple question, as of 2020, and throughout the decade, which state is/will be best overall, Virginia or Georgia?

You may judge any of the criteria:

Cities
Economy
Quality of life
Recreational activities
Education/Schools K-12
Universities/ Research institutions
Culture/Population/Diversity
Politics
Infrastructure/Transportation
Airports etc

Virginia. If Georgia can get its politics together possibly but I really think that's going to hinder them long term.

This is a good matchup. I think these are two of the best managed southern states but I'm giving VA the nod because of education and QOL...

I'm a GA (ATL) Boy but if GA can't hang with TN and NC overall, then VA beats us out too. Metro ATL, Savannah, GA Coast, and I guess GA Mountains vs NoVa, Shenandoah, RVA, 7 Cities, Roanoke, the Chesapeake, etc.

Economy - GA
Quality of life - GA
Recreational activities - Tie
Education/Schools K-12 - Not sure
Universities/ Research institutions - VA
Culture/Population/Diversity - NA
Politics - GA. VA's Governor is a bit too radical/extreme and will end up hurting the state eventually.

Only in this current political climate can a governor--one that Republicans had at one time considered recruiting--with an actual moderate record be considered "a bit too radical/extreme."

Airports etc - GA
Of course the world's busiest airport is in Atlanta, but after that there's a huge drop when you get to SAV and AUG. I think VA takes this as it more comfortably occupies the huge airport gap found in GA with Reagan, Dulles, Richmond, and Norfolk.
