It would have to be Boston - Boston Massacre, Battle of Boston, Battle of Bunker Hill, Boston Tea Party, Lexington and Concord, Paul Revere's Ride - followed by Philadelphia - Continental Congress, Declaration of Independence, Constitution, 2nd US Capital City, Independence Hall.

In order I would have to put it like this (this is only my opinion)

1) Boston
2) Philadelphia
3) Washington, DC
4) New York - first US Capital, Battle of Long Island (Brooklyn), Battle of New York
5) Jamestown/Williamsburg/Yorktown

Thumbs up Best City in the U.S.

The best city in the United States is New York City, by far. The most Historical is probably Washington D.C., then Philadelphia, PA.
Everything in this country has it good and bad points, but there is no other place I would rather live in right now. I Love America !

In addition to the fort, the Old City in St Augustine is amazing. It's the only Midieval city in the US and the narrow streets and Midieval architecture will make you feel as you were in Europe.
