Interesting... though I don't agree. I think Chicago has a far better variety and much more of them esp in things like bars/blues/jazz clubs/live music. The only thing I could think DC would be on par with, and possibly better is night clubs.

Many cities have a better nightlife than DC: NYC, LA, Miami, Vegas, Chicago, San Francisco, even Austin IMO.

I think Chicago has a slightly better bar scene and the blues scene is also bigger in Chicago. I give DC the nod on live music and jazz clubs. Nightclubs are a huge advantage to DC.

Chicago probably has the best bar scene in the country with Boston a close second!

Chicago crushed DC with regards to nightlife. DC isnt in the class of city as Chi, NY or LA.

Crushed? LOL. In what way. Bar scene - yes. But there are a lot of other aspects in nightlife. Crushed is a strong word to use against an east coast city - especially when compared to a midwestern town. Then again I realize Chicago isn't your typical midwestern town.

I agree Chicago's bar scene does crush DC's. DC is not a big bar city at all. I don't think Chicago can come close to DC's clubs though. That's my humble opinion and I have partied hearty in Chicago on plenty of occasions.

Crushed, as in there are more nightclubs of all types in Chicago than DC and Baltimore combined. DC has 600,000 people, Chicago has millions. DC is a relative minor league city compared to Chi.

You must be sitting in a cornfield in upper Indiana to make a statement like that! Get out some time before you bash the most important city in the free world.
