I'm not a fan of the club/pop-hop that comes out of Atlanta and many of the other Sunbelt cities. I do like Outkast a lot, and some of Ludacris and TI. Scarface had a couple good songs too, and so did Cam'ron (is he from the Sunbelt?)
hip hop is downright terrible now. its overproduced and the talent pool is just weak from, say, 10 yrs ago even. although, lil wayne is pretty decent.

The SF Bay Area needs to be on here as a whole to make this a valid poll. Not just Oakland but the bay as a whole considering a lot has come out of here and it is one movement from SF to Oakland to Vallejo, Richmond, Pittsburgh, and EPA.

No he basically sucks and is part of the reason why hip hop is the way it is now so he stays.

You have to understand, the Southern cities only started what New York started in 1997 when it became commercial. Blame P.diddy. Because the South had a balance of club/hip hop music out. Oh and come on, Scarface had more than just a couple good songs. Cam'ron is from New York.

I thought 50 was good until 07 when he sold vitamin water and the money went to his head.

Your statement is 100% on target I blame Diddy for making hip hop a joke. I mean before 97 if you listened and followed hip hop you felt like you were part of a culture and now theres nothing special about it. Scarface is probably one of the best artists from the south. Specifically Cams from Harlem.

For Hip Hop/Rap, it depends. Quality Rap and Hip Hop comes out of NYC for the most part now and maybe Minneapolis (Atmosphere). ATL is good, but the only quality artist from there in my opinion, is TI, and maybe Ludicrous. Most new rap sucks anyway.

I love R&B though, Jazz, Country, classic Hip Hop and some new Hip Hop, mainly TI King, who is amazing, IMO.

They only good artist out there right now who aren't commercial marketing tools are Common, Atmosphere, Clipse (Virginia Beach, baby!), Re Up Gang (VA Beach), TI.

Wayne, Jeezy, Akon, Jay-Z, 50, Em, etc, are all commercial POS now. Plus, I can't stand how they ride Obama's c**k.
Some Wayne is great and some is terrible, I think Jeezy is still real, Akon is decent, Jay-Z is probably the King of NY right now and he is REAL, 50 has been fake since 07, Eminem is one of the realest artists in Hip Hop right now.
