It's funny. I've lived in Dallas for a year now and I have no idea!

Fort Worth gets my vote. It has out grew Dallas and the entire metro area for like the last 6 years or so. The city of Fort Worth is inching closer to the 1 million resident mark. If Fort Worth growth continues it will eventually surpass Dallas city limits in population.

It want get ugly Fort Worth & Dallas residents have mutual respect for each other. Thats what makes the region so special two major cities that share a friendly rivarly that make up the 4th largest metro area in the country.

I can't really compare...live in the Dallas area and see the Ft Worth guys as brethren...not some other strange city.

If you were born in Dallas or Fort Worth you probably know about the days of R. L. Thornton and Amon G. Carter and The Centennial at Fair Park vs. the rinky dink expo Fort Worth cooked up to compete with it...

It's our duty to carry on the rivalry!

So Arlington is a Ft Worth suburb, but the Rangers are a Dallas sports team?

And frankly, next year, the Cowboys are in Arlington too.

The problem with trying to separate the two cities is that you also have to separate out the other cities as well.

Dallas is therefore only home to the Maverick, Stars and Mustangs.
Grand Prairie is home to Lone Star Park and the Airhogs.
The Roughriders are in Collin County.
Irving has the Byron Nelson and used to have the Cowboys.

Fort Worth is home only to the Cats, Frogs, TMS and the Colonial.
The Brahmas are in North Richland Hills.
The Rangers are in Arlington (not a part of Dallas).
The Cowboys are now in Arlington instead of Irving.

However, most of us just consider all that part of the metroplex.

FWIW, Fort Worth is also known for the Cliburn competition and the Stock Show and Rodeo. :-)
