The Twin Cities, being the nucleus of the state of Minnesota and the only large metro area, you typically see "Metro MN" and "Outstate MN"...

The Twin Cities are global, busy, with 3 million people, the center of work and economic activity. Out state is quiet, much more "Midwestern" like. Also, the Twin Cities are very liberal, and the rest of the state seems to be much more conservative....

Also when it comes to All Star High School games, there usually is a Metro MN Vs Outstate MN

Memphis doesn't belong in Tennessee, but we don't think Arkansas will take it.
There's an old standing joke in education and government in Tennessee that most all laws were passed due to Memphis...

Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington don't belong with the west sides of those states...or vice-versa. The population centers are on the west side and they tend to be much more liberal politically, more crowded and more urban centered.
Even the country is different. Generally--west = wet. East = dry.

Cumberland and Salem Counties in NJ are like taking a drive through rural Virginia.
Flat lands, a bunch of farms, and completely different kinds of people.

They are the outcast of NJ.

Cumberland & Salem really are like the deep south. it reminds me of Zoolander, when Derek went home to his family in South Jersey lol

Yeah without Atlanta the rest of Georgia would be worse than Mississippi, at least they have casino's in Mississippi

I would have to agree with you there. Northern and Southern California feel like different states! Coming over the Grapevine into Socal you know you have entered into a different realm ha.

Louisville KY is completely different from the rest of the state. The people there are not as "southern" as they are in the rest of the state. Even Lexington KY has a southern feel.

That depends on where in Louisville you are, too. The most Southern parts of Louisville are outside the "old city limits"

LOL...Georgia would not be Mississippi ever. It's the poorest state in the nation and has some of the most obese people in the states. Not to mention if Atlanta was somewhere else. Augusta and COlumbus would be bigger than Jackson.

But now back on Topic...If you took NYC, then the rest of the state would be simliar to VA....

Maybe we should just make the NYC Metro Area a state, but that would be a bad idea for NJ because most of the people and businesses that are in the state are apart of the metro area. So would this be any good?
