So, you haven't been to Houston but still feel you can comment on the weather? That's rich. Check us out in "non-summer" months and you'll find very pleasant weather, green lawns, and friendly people. And, really, the humidity levels in the cooler months aren't appreciably any different than in Dallas-other than the fact that it does rain from time to time in Houston-hence, the blooming flowers in January....
I never said there weren't friendly people in Houston. I just said humidity levels in Dallas are often lower than Houston. Houston is very close to the gulf. I have also been to New Orleans a few times, which is also near the gulf. It is very humid compared to Dallas.
Texas IS the Southwest. I don't consider it part of the Deep South. Anyway, what is so bad about being part of the Southwest?
there's nothing wrong with being part of the southwest. dallas just isn't. but who said anything about the deep south? dallas is just the plain old south

I have a hard time seeing Texas as part of the South. To me, the South begins where Louisiana starts.

Just because Dallas has lower humidity doesn't mean its heat is pleausrable. Dallas has some humidity but instead of extreme humidity like Houston, it has hot air and hotter temperatures. It may have a breeze, but its a hot breeze in Houston. Just a different place in the oven, just as uncomfortable if you ask me.

I live in metropolitan Atlanta. It gets hot, humid and there is rarely a breeze. I know what it is to live in such a climate. That is why find Dallas a bit more comfortable than Atlanta. I have been to Dallas for myself. It was 102 degrees F outside and it felt more tolerable than 85 degrees F in Atlanta. In Atlanta I can sweat just by standing there.
