I'd go along with that. The good thing about Phoenix is that it can be a central base for making day/weekend trips to go see the interesting parts of Arizona.
Indianapolis, its nickname is "Naptown"! Right in the middle of Indiana. Why was Indiana made a state again?
I'm sorry to say but you are just wrong. Like a lot of people say, any metro with over 2 million people, which Indianapolis had btw, has enough to do for anyone. It has a very nice downtown as well as a large variety of restaurants. There is a lot of nightlife in Broad Ripple and all across town. Maybe that is why the economy and population of Indianapolis continue to grow while other Midwestern cities have shrinking populations. And one last thing, don't hate on Indiana, it is better than at least half of the other states.
None Of The Big Cities Are Boring However A Lot Of Small Cities Are........

No big city in a Medium or Large Metropolitan area is a boring city , now let me break down what a big city is , and what a Medium Metro area is and what a large metro area is.
BIG CITY 300,000 and larger in population Medium METROPOLITAN AREA 2,000,000 to 4,000,000 in Population Large METROPOLITAN AREA 4,000,000 and above in Population
Now some Big Cities in small Metropolitan are boring and Fresno CA is a good example Fresno Arena's and concert venues are not Nationally ranked and Fresno has never had any Major League Professional Sports Teams or other genre of world class level attractions.
Now in comparison with Fresno California the city of Tulsa Oklahoma is a Big City with a Population of 388,000 with a Metro of 1,000,000 As of The 2010 Census and making a side by side comparison between Tulsa OK and Fresno CA...Tulsa has World Class Entertainment with the( BOK.. Arena)..Bank Of Oklahoma Arena which is highly rated as a top 10 or top 20 venue in both National Rating and World Class Standards Rating.
There Are Small 100,000 to 200,000 And Medium 200,000 to 300,000 Size Cities In Small Metro's
500,000 to 2,000,000 that are Boring , But No Boring Big Cities In Medium And Large Markets....

I also dont understand how anyone can say a city like philly is boring...but then again I have never been there but the city looks full of life and energy
I would have to say El Paso. While I did have a good time living there in terms of partying and hooking up with hot women, it really ENDED right there. Very little in terms of high-brow culture, shopping or natural beauty other than the mountains, and yes it's expanding, but it feels so run down (although neighboring Juarez looks far worse).
I think you'd be hard pressed to call El Paso a true large American city. Yeah it has an inflated city population which makes the municipality of El Paso larger than those of Miami, Boston, Atlanta, DC, etc., but the metro population is like 700K. It's not a large city at all, at least not on a national level.

Uhmm, careful. Fresno ranked high the first couple of years that its new arena opened too. New arenas attract a lot of business the first few years.
Fresno's SaveMart Center (opened in December 2003) ranked as #10 in midyear 2004 worldwide rankings. It was #24 in the world in full year 2004 in ticket sales, ranking third among California venues that year behind only #20 Staples Center and #21 Oakland Arena. Fresno State's Save Mart Center Ranked Tenth in the World (http://www.fresnostatenews.com/2004/July/World'sTenth.html - broken link)
Save Mart Center Ranks 24th in the World in Attendance (http://www.fresnostatenews.com/2005/01/0120-SMCRank.htm - broken link)
World Class Entertainment? One of the world's best voices Opera Tenor Andrea Bocelli is performing in Fresno in December, his third concert here in 6 years. (The only other west coast stops on this tour are Anaheim and Las Vegas).
Bocelli will be backed by the Fresno Philharmonic, which he considers at a high enough level to perform with vs. bringing in his own musicians. In fact the Fresno Philharmonic also travelled out of the area with Bocelli to perform in 2003. http://www.fresnograndopera.org/bocelli.html
And of course, many other performers stop in Fresno on their tours.
World Class Attractions? Can Tulsa claim to have 3 world class national parks within 75 miles of its downtown? (Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia surround Fresno )
