I don't know San Francisco city limits can be rather cool during summer months. Highs in the 60's isn't what I call the best summer weather. Now San Jose and most of the east bay from Walnut Creek down to Fremont has awesome summer weather.
Maybe early summer DC, mid summer SF? DC was pretty uncomfortable in July.
I think most people would choose SF's summer over DC's. I'd give spring and fall to DC.
Maybe September (the summer portion) or early fall weather goes to San Francisco, as they have weather in the 70sF and sometimes warmer. But a true 4-seasons lover should not be a hypocrite (not saying you are)-summer is supposed to be hot. DC has that, SF does not.
^^Exactly. It's bad enough that the West Coast usually gets chilly at night in the summer. Why have it be cold and windy during the day too, with no sunshine? Might as well be winter.
DC had double the amount of murders than SF in 2011, despite the fact that SF has nearly 200 thousand more people living within the city than DC. Go look up crime statistics on this forum as proof.
DC is cleaning up, but it's still far more crime ridden than SF. That, I feel, is very telling of the big poverty issue in DC... it has quite a few problems to manage.
Besides being close to NYC, SF blows DC out of the water, in my opinion.
