I left quite a few other buildings out that look amazing, kcmo takes great photos.... we just have a more diverse and nicer stock of building in our downtown. With nice new modern buildings mixed in with old art decos. It's beautiful IMO.
Of course it comes down to personal preference, but I disagree with an advantage to STL for Culture. The Arts scene in KC is much more vibrant, we have more art, better art, more galleries, more fairs, etc... First Fridays, with art galleries and street performers, etc. They are FAR from a tie, KC wins by a landside when you compare museums. STL zoo is better, but I wouldn't say that gives STL any kind of cultural edge....
Economy - STL is larger, however KC is growing faster, and still easier for jobs, lower unemployment rate (tho like most of the US it still sucks). I would consider this more of a tie then the advantage to STL... with it actually trending more in KCs favor.
I don't find STL to be the winner in Food either, being larger and having more doesn't = better. Quality over quantity. You can have 100 more McDonalds, but its still McDonalds. I really can't rate it, our BBQ is superior.. but that is all I can say. We have a lot of great and unique places with a wide variety that I love, I'm sure STL is the same.
Transportation - I agree, STL. I don't know if KC will ever get better =(
Walkable neighborhoods - STL may have more, I'm really unsure. However on walkability ratings, we have one of the best in the country with Westport. Our downtown is far superior with much more to do and visually a lot more appealing. We also have Crossroads, River Market, Union Hill, 18t and Vine, etc. STL probably has the advantage tho, but Downtown KC being much better then STL downtown IMO.
Housing once again is all a matter of opinion, but no denying STL has some great looking rowhomes and brick buildings.
There is not 1 fact in your whole post. Your arguments are opinions. You also show you know nothing about the STL Arts scene, museums, or other cultural attractions.

Unemployment rate, as I said, is slightly better in KC then STL
It is also a fact that KC has a growing population, at a faster rate then STL.
When it comes to the arts, KC is much more of an art city then STL.
The Nelson is a superior museum to what STL has, it has more collections, it is much more renowned and better known then STL. It is no different then saying STL zoo is better then KC zoo. I can admit to that, its true, i've been to both. I've been to both museums, the Nelson is FAR superior.
We have the Kansas City Art Insititute, STL has no art institute. We have the Crossroads Art District, STL has no art district that i'm aware of, especially nothing comparable to what we have. We have more galleries and first friday.
Kemper Museum of Contemporary art has a permenant collection, unlike STL Contemporary art museum.
Please prove that STL has a better more vibrant downtown then KC? KC has thousands more residents downtown, a larger downtown, more things to do downtown, is building more residential downtown then STL..
I stated food and culture though comes down to personal preference...
I guess when you said I didn't have one fact, that includes where I said STL has superior public transportation? LOL.
And another fact, I said KC has a neighborhood with one of the best walk ratings in the country.... Westport:

Honestly, it just seems you need to get out a little more. You have the typical Kansas City inferiority complex. Let me guess, you grew up in the surburbs outside of KC, and have never lived anywhere else?
St Louis does have an Arts District, its called Grand Center, it's in Midtown. We have no Art Institute, however Washington University, Webster University, St Louis University and UMSL have top notch art programs. Washington University has an amazing art gallery on their campus. Webster is known for their liberal art programs. I can't even count the little galleries scattered all over the city. There are 3 in my southside neighborhood.
I'm not saying KC doesn't have a great arts scene, however it doesn't blow STL away in anything. Downtowns are very similar, personally I prefer STL's Washington Avenue to anything KC (the monstracity that is Power and Light) KC has NOTHING like Soulard, Lafayette Square, Benton Park, Bevo Mill, The Loop (constantly voted one of the top 10 streets in the country).
First off, how can you diss the P&L District and then proceed to talk up the loop? Come on.
"KC has nothing like"...
"doesn't blow STL away in anything"
Sounds like you have the "typical St Louis inferiority complex" of being scared to death that anything in little ol KC could possibly be as good, as urban and as sophisticated as the huge urban mecca of St Louis...
For the record. No, KC does not have a Lafayette, Square, Souldard, Benton Park etc. That would be wierd if KC had those places.
Just like it would be weird if St Louis had anything like the Country Club Plaza, Westport, Union Hill, River Market, Crossroads, West Side, Hyde Park etc.
You know with three sports stadiums downtown and a national monument, downtown St Louis leaves a lot to be desired, even with Wash Ave.
^The Loop is awesome and unique and literally was transformed block by block, shop by shop. P&L is a megaplex plopped down on a city block. They have absolutely no similarities.
I was trying to make a point that every time Skrizzle comments in any forum it's to diss STL, when he obviously knows very little about the city. I have no reason to have any kind of complex, as I didn't grow up in either one. I do believe its true, KC may be better in some areas, but to say KC blows STL away in _____, is just untrue. I like KC and enjoy my visits, but I feel the need to defend STL when people comment that don't know what they are talking about.
For the record, each city is a great place to live and has their own vibe. Both have a lot to offer, for a low cost of living. I could be happy living in either place, however I do prefer living in St Louis.
I agree, I was just thinking the loop has many chain places too, and the P&L district includes historic structures like the Midland and AMC Mainstreet.
I understand the P&L district is a canned entertainment district. But it's a very popular one and it fills a need in the city. KC LIVE is destination place for hundreds of miles for a certain crowd of people. I know people that drive down to the P&L from Omaha every chance they get to "party".
But KC also has plenty of the more local and grass roots places too. The P&L District complements those areas.
"KC has one of the largest urban outdoor markets in the country, Does St Louis have something similar?"
That looks awesome, we do have Soulard Farmers Market, which looks very similar. I am lucky to enough to live in a neighborhood with three farmer's markets within walking distance. My favorite Saturday morning activity is to go bike to Soulard Market, grab a bloody mary, eat some gumbo and listen to some blues.

In some aspects it DOES blow STL away... what is wrong with admitting to that? I admit the aspects that STL blows KC away... and NO i don't always diss STL, in fact in another thread the other day about 2nd downtowns, I listed STL as being IMO one of, if not the top one with Clayton.....
I've consistantly stated in other threads that I think STL has superior transportation, zoo, and science museum... I admit when some things are better, but when KC has better things I'm gonna say it too...
