I forgot to mention to you...Texaco Gas Stations are still down here in Texas. Although, many changed their name to Chevron for some reason??... But, there are still lots of Texaco Stations.

... and how about Liberty Boulevard, probably the most beautiful street in Cleveland... I appreciate and respect Dr. Martin Luther King and, absolutely believe we should have such a major street named after him... But Liberty Blvd. was a great, classic Cleveland street name.

Default Thanks for the memories

I came upon these posts just by accident. I grew up in Cleveland in the 1970's and remember all these things.

Also, does anyone remember:
Tops (Topps? -- Sort of like Walmart)
Franz the Toymaker
Woodrow the Woodsmith
Captain Penny "You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time.....but you can't fool mom"
Miss Barbara from Romper Room
Jan Jones with Fred Griffith on The Morning Exchange

I always waited for Miss Barbara to see me through her magic mirror. But, she never did...

Romper Stomper Bomber Boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me do. Magic mirror, tell me today. Did all of my friends have fun today? (I think this is how it went...)

I never heard..."I see Trisha..."

Any remember the big storm on July 4, 1969? I was only 7, but I think it traumatized me for life! I did some Googling and found the following page. I've never even heard of a derecho!

The Ohio Fireworks Derecho

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that nobody mentioned this one:

The Ghoul, Saturday nights on channel 61
vs.
Big Chuck & Hoolihan, Friday nights on channel 8

---

and, for the older folks:

Dorothy Fuldheim on channel 5
Dorothy Fuldheim - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and of course, Cleveland's own Harvey Pekar
:From Off the Streets of Cleveland… Comes Harvey Pekar's Official Blog

Darn, now I've got that Garfield1-2323 jingle playing in my head............argh!
