Smile Swansboro, White Oak River lovers

The weather here in early December around Cape Carteret, Cedar Point and Swansboro has turned decidedly warm with temperatures near sixty on Saturday, near seventy yesterday which was Sunday Dec 9, and over seventy today, Monday, Dec 10.

Sunday we drove around Swansboro and shot some pictures near the new River Walk.

I also got some shots of Begonias still doing well in front of a home decorated for Christmas. Even I, confirmed Crystal Coast booster, am surprised at how warm it is.

After driving around I spent a couple of hours on the White Oak in my kayak. Shorts and tee shirt were fine for even late afternoon.

The shots of Swansboro and the White Oak are at this site.

December Sunday in Swansboro and on the White Oak

I also got some great shots of a Blue Heron in flight. I posted those at this site.

I am getting ready to head out in the boat now, so I will likely have more photos later.

I have also updated my main Southern Outer Banks site with new info.

May your weather be as nice as ours is today. I feel for the folks suffering through ice storms today.

If nothing else, I will post a picture of one my ripening December tomatoes which are still doing fine in this new warmer world.

I never made it to the tomato patch before dark, I spent too much time on the beach and hiking on the Tideland Trail in Croatan National Forest.

A picture from on the Tideland Trail.

Here is a beach picture from today.

A shot just before sunset when we left the beach.

Finally here is sunset down by the Swansboro bridges.
