"but seem like far from anything."

Define "anything".

Little River, North Myrtle and Myrtle Beach is not that "far away".

"There are not enough primary care doctors to serve the throngs of people moving here."

There are doctors offices all over the place of every stripe.

This are has been one of the fastest growing areas for at least 20 years.

As we grow. so does all the support also grows. Not as fast as some want.

Just got back from another week at OIB and wow the traffic there now compared to even last season. The number of houses going up off-island and folks coming onto the island is pretty awful. I realize it is probably the busiest week of the year but we've got family that live there permanently and never seen it like that. You know to avoid leaving on Saturday's at check out and things like that but it didn't matter what day you tried moving, was just traffic everywhere.

Will be curious to see how they deal with it over the next 5 years as it gets much worse.

We went to a Sunset Beach Planning Board meeting 2 months ago. They have approved 5000 new homes in the area. Chatham Glenn, Sunset Ridge, The Retreat, Sea Walk, the new section of the Thistle to name a few.
It's going to get interesting!!!

That sounds about right based on what you see just driving around. Totally ruining what made that area so special. Sunset probably has the same issue as OIB with too many realtors on boards and not enough regular residents not trying to fatten their bank accounts.
