There's an international microchip shortage affecting auto manufacturing and other industries. I went to Greenville Toyota today just to look at cars. You could play a baseball game on their new car lot. Not much behind what can be seen from the road.

I knew things were getting bad when that car lot at the corner of Firetower and Evans/Old Tar put up a sign that said "We Pay Cash For Trucks Immediately"

No one even cares if you trade. They just need inventory so someone else can buy. It's pretty bad in the auto business these days.

I hope something is done with the old H-T shopping center. It looks awful with their space vacant and some of the parking lot has been barricaded off with caution tape for a while now, I guess to keep students from parking there.

The smart money would charge for parking while they can. I paid BrodyCo $550/year to park at the old Darryl’s lot on 10th and that’s going on 15 years ago.

I would have to believe the prospects for that shopping center have improved with the JR going up. There is a lot of opportunity for this little pocket. Jarman renovated the building along Charles, I would think he would be open to improving, expanding the rest of the property.

Sheetz at the corner of Firetower & Arlington is closed for several weeks due to total renovation.

Anybody know about the new Exxon being built on Firetower & Whitley? Appears to have a drive-thru attached. Will a chain restaurant be a part of this convenience store?

I believe this will be home to Sam's Express car wash. These have popped up all over the triangle and I think they will be successful here. I've been to a few of these and they give the car a solid wash, even at the cheapest ($6) option. In the triangle, the gas prices there are normally slightly cheaper than surrounding stations. As a bonus, buying any wash will give you a discount (based on which wash you select) on your gas.

I was in town and uptown yesterday and noticed the former Cubbies building is completely renovated. Any idea what the plans are for this?

Update on Wildwood park from the most recent city council meeting

https://greenville.granicus.com/Docu...bf5.pdf&view=1

I knew this park would do wonders for the city, but I am truly excited for the possibilities this park will bring. Now they're looking at adding an amphitheater for small concerts and other festivals!
