I believe this will be home to Sam's Express car wash. These have popped up all over the triangle and I think they will be successful here. I've been to a few of these and they give the car a solid wash, even at the cheapest ($6) option. In the triangle, the gas prices there are normally slightly cheaper than surrounding stations. As a bonus, buying any wash will give you a discount (based on which wash you select) on your gas.
Thanks. Carwashes are becoming a trend. Hopefully it won't get out of hand like mattress stores. Good to know you can get a decent wash for cheap somewhere. Used the Sheetz $9 wash once and it wasn't really effective at all. I'll be sticking with Sheetz, though, for gas and, of course, free air.
I knew this park would do wonders for the city, but I am truly excited for the possibilities this park will bring. Now they're looking at adding an amphitheater for small concerts and other festivals!
Agreed. Of all the projects and growth we've seen through the last 10 years Wildwood Park has the potential to be as impactful as any if not more for the city.
Just in passing conversation I have spoken to a half dozen companies that looked seriously at Greenville as a location for their company but they didn't feel as though the city had enough to offer their employees. Wildwood is hugely important to this end!
I was in town and uptown yesterday and noticed the former Cubbies building is completely renovated. Any idea what the plans are for this?
As far as I'm aware, a tenant has not been secured for the downstairs retail space. According to the building owner "The upstairs will feature 3,000 feet of residential space, divided. The downstairs will be leased as either two retail spaces, or one large 3,000-foot space with an all glass front. The residential spaces will both sport rooftop decks."
Epic news: Vidant’s CEO will also become dean of BSOM. BSOM and Vidant will become more closely intertwined and the Vidant name will go away in favor of something like ECU Health.

This partnership has been derailed a time or two already so hopefully this time it sticks. It is a BIG deal for BSOM obviously but also the institution. If eventually the two merge and ECU owns its own hospital network that is a big deal for the school. Now we need a funding model that can help ECU Health(Vidant) remain viable whilst serving a rural/poorer populace.

That guarantees that several major projects won't get done for maybe 10 years at least.
Allen Rd was supposed to be improved to 4 lanes.
Evans Rd to Old Tar all the way to Worthington was supposed to be improved to 4 lanes.
They are also preparing to pave NC 43 south from, probably, Fire Tower Rd to past Chicod School. They've installed Road Construction and Soft Shoulder signs along that entire path on both sides of the road. They're also grinding down the bigger bumps in the road and backfilling drainage pipes that go under the road and patch paving over the pipes.
