You got to witness the FSU Cinnamon Rolls at full strength (minus their starting QB) against a very, very mediocre Florida team who was missing their starting QB.
In that game, FSU not only trailed for most of it, but only managed to score 24 points.
The following week, they only managed to score 16 points against a mediocre Louisville team (who ended up giving up 42 points to a horrible USC team with a backup QB).
Keep in mind, GA continued to score with their second teamers against FSU, and could have easily hit 70 points.
FSU thinks they are back, right up until they have to play against the elite teams of college FB.
Yesterday's game was a humiliation, both to the FSU program, as well as to the kids who opted out or hit the transfer portal.

Disagree. Many FSU players rightfully were making a statement that many Americans agree with. No question FSU should have made the CFP over an Alabama team that barely beat a mediocre Auburn team on a last minute hail Mary (very late in the season), but still got into the CFP. Some say Alabama had improved over the season?
Well, let me try this again- The only "statement" made by the FSU players is that they knew they were going to get a butt whipping, and took the cowards way out. The results of the game proved them right, and also proved the CFP right. FSU was clearly, clearly, not at the same level as the top 4 teams..

Making a statement?
If a 63-3 loss while giving up nearly 700 yards of offense is a statement, I'm not sure what kind of message they were trying to send.
If FSU and Alabama had played at full strength during the season, Alabama would have won. FSU just is not that good of a team. Good enough to win the ACC, yes, but not good enough to win against the upper echelon of college football.
Now, the CFP committee is being rewarded for leaving FSU out. And a lot of the rest of us are nodding in agreement.

Abso f'ing lutely. And for the record, my Buckeyes took a beating in the Cotton Bowl because on that day, the other team was better. No excuses. Shoulda, coulda, woulda has never won a single game.
If those 23 who didn't play don't feel terrible now that the game ended 63-3, they should.
If they were boycotting the NCAA selection committee to make a point, it didn't work.
I'd throw every one of them off the team, and rescind their scholarships.
Agree. I hate that players on a “team” can opt out for their own benefit verse the benefit of the team. It’s selfish, and it’s discussed in the name of preservation. If you play in a team sport, it means you’re a part of something bigger than yourself! It’s time for kids to learn that again.
The FSU universe cannot feel good about much of what transpired yesterday.
FSU gave scholarships to 58 players, yet 23 didn't honor their scholarships...shame on them (unless they were injured). They can't undo it.
They dishonored themselves, their teammates, their coaches, their fans, & their Football program...set a very bad example for those to follow.
It will take years for this bad memory to fade....the legacy Bobby Bowden built at FSU was dishonored by the opt-outs.
UGA won on the field and off...with integrity, & commitment to those round them. I'm proud of my Dawgs.
Kudos to the FSU players who honored their commitments. That 3rd string FSU QB especially...tough kid.
I tend to agree with this. Not to mention the disrespect they showed to the Orange Bowl, which is a prestigious event that didn't deserve a "game" like that.
The only positive I see to take away from this debacle is the experience gained by our benchwarmers in getting to play against elite competition.
