EXACTLY! I learned alot from my experiences. Always providing a safe and secure place for my kids' education to sprout. They can live at home as long as they are in school (if they want to). I will educate them on their options: scholarships, community college vs. university, living at home vs. going away, private, public, etc.. They will be "set up" for success. Something I didn't have

I didn't owe anything either even with living on campus. Between scholarships and working full-time during my education, I didn't have a balance the day I graduated. One of my friends has over 200K in college loans and it makes me anxious just thinking about it. Education is great but not worth 200K!

Those of us who haven't had that support know how truly valuable it is. I hope your kids realize just how important your support is. Hopefully they really appreciate it, I know I would have.

I personally believe that kids who do not have that type of support are at a stark disadvantage and we pay for it by working during school and taking absurd amounts of loans for schooling. Good on you for being a great parent.

~120K. $40k for undergrad (public). Rest for an MBA (public). Grew up as "working poor" - too rich for state help, but always lived paycheck to paycheck and I've got no concept of saving. Now with a kid and a stay at home wife, I've been deferring payments for about 5 years (since I finished the MBA)

I owe about 45k for my Masters program.

Altogether, my Bachelors & Masters education cost about $96,000. Luckily, the Bachelor's portion was paid for by my employer.

My student loan debt is approx $54K. This is for a Bachelor and Master. Separately my undergrad is approx $24K and grad $30K. My major for undergrad was Information Technology and for grad was Information Systems with emphasis in Security. Total time in school was 5 years.

Right now about $45-50K in the hole, but I'm in my 30s already. It sucks. I sometimes wonder what I was thinking. Of course, I wouldn't have met my wife without my grad school experience. Sometimes I feel like a burden to her, though.

SMU

Univ. of Texas

London School of Business (MBA)*

Wharton (up for 2011 to $89k)*

Stanford is $87k*

Just a few...3 of these are in the top 5 for FT rankings for MBA's. 3 of them are #'s 1, 2 and 3*.

And yes...all 3 are public...and LSBE has an online program.
