Just a few...3 of these are in the top 5 for FT rankings for MBA's. 3 of them are #'s 1, 2 and 3*.

And yes...all 3 are public...and LSBE has an online program.
I'm talking about public/in state.

A little less than $100k now. Started out with about $110k. I went to school out of state, no scholarships, and finished my degree in Civil Engineering in six years. Best decision of my life? Yes and no. When I first realized how much debt I amassed, I immediately went into a state of regret and depression. But after I got over myself and decided to stand up to my responsibility, it became a goal to get this thing paid down as quickly as possible and I'm proud of my efforts thus far.

It's not the worst thing in the world as long as you're responsible about it. For people who've cancelled relationships or compared such debt the financial equivalent of having children, I understand the comparison but also think it's a petty, flawed reason. Anything can happen to a child, and children can be a dynamic expense. My student loan payments are static unless I decide to pay more towards them.

Stanford is private

Michigan costs $22,500/semester, in state, and takes 2 years.
Berkeley's a little cheaper at $42,000/year ($84k total)
UVA is within $500 of UCB
UCLA is just over $40k/yr
UT is only $30k/yr, so it just misses (not that $60k is nothing though)
Maryland costs $77k total
Then there are a lot of public schools in the $50-70k range.

Yikes. What a rip off at UM. You can go to UNC-CH for 21k a year.

The costs are a bit higher than I thought though.

All those people made horrible choices for the quality of the degree compared to the price they paid.

Yep. It's a shame that it wasn't so obvious to them before they shelled out the commitment. And who pays those kinds of bills for crappy colleges?

I still have not consolidated my loans. I need to get on that. For the last several years I've been waiting since the interest rates have been dropping, but I'm not sure what's going to happen this year and I haven't been keeping up like I usually do.

Most of the costs there are for in-state. To be more consistent out-of-state tuition should be used as a comparison, or other wise ask what is the cost in X state for an MBA.

Correct @ UT-Austin campus. Just used to this:

The program cost for the Texas MBA at Dallas/Fort Worth for the class entering in August 2011 is expected to be $81,000*.

True, but on the other hand, when talking these kinds of numbers, out of state isn't too much more money.

Out of state
Berkeley: $50k/yr
UVA: $46.5k/yr
UCLA: $49k/yr
UM: $50k/yr
UT: $45k/yr
Maryland: $92.5k for entire program
