I am a 22 yr old single mother planning on moving to colorado springs within the next few months. What are the good affordable areas to live in? I have been to colorado springs quite often and love everything about it but as far as the best living location i am unsure. What is the Cheyenne Hills area like? ...any suggestions for rentals?

You might try the Widefield/Security/Fountain areas - lots of young families, cheaper than many other parts of town, small town feel.

we lived in Cheyenne meadows and it was very nice. It's not in the best school dist. but houses and apartments were affordable. It's close to Ft. Carson. I would look in the Fountain area for sure.

We loved living in Cos. The mountains are just so beautiful! The Springs is larger and more spread out. Better shopping but I think people are nicer here. All the houses out there have basements. I would say people are very accepting of new families just because of the high number of military stationed in Cos. Yards will be much smaller! If you like hiking or camping-you'll love the national forest. Traffic is different out there b/c there are serveral major roads. It's still an issue but not like it is here with College and Market. The weather is beyond nice!!! Get ready for snow but it hardly last more than a day or so. It's really hot for a week or two max! Good Luck!

Cheyenne meadows have older homes 1980's or so. I don't know if there is a neighborhood like it in Wilmington. It's a very good location b/c it is close to the interstate and 115 (s. nevada). The grocery store, movie theater, world arena and target are two min. away. The bad part is the school dist. It is not very good!

thanks everyone. I was looking at the cheyenne meadows area but I wasnt 100percent sure how the neighborhood is. My daughter is too young to worry about school districts right now. Are there any good daycares around?
