pueblo west homes/ mold problems (buying a home, buying, inspection)

I am buying a home in pueblo west (while living out of state). I had the home inspected, it is a stucco home. There is evidence of mold, maybe alot of mold.
I have been checking other homes on the internet and some have disclosed mold problems. Is this common in stucco homes, or pueblo west area only?? :I am very excited about pueblo west, it is beautiful. So information on this area and/or mold problems would be greatly appreciated.

Pueblo West IS beautiful! However, there has been a lot of rain this last year. If the builder of the home(s) you are looking at did not do the stucco properly, then...yeah... there could be mold problems. You'd be wise to have a mold inspection done. But there are many many homes with no problems as well.

As a home inspector for many years I can say without a doubt that mold exists in every house in every state. Warm, humid locales provide an environment for more varied forms of the fungus but living in a dry climate doesn't exempt you. I've seen mold present on building materials (in Colorado) before the homes were constructed and then witnessed the contaminated components being used. There are close to a half million different types of mold with less than 100,000 identified. There is no irrefutable evidence that suggests mold itself is deadly but it certainly can make you sick depending upon your tolerance. And some molds remain dormant until disturbed. When you try to remove it... bingo, you’ve got a situation. You'll have to have a “mold inspection” done because a standard home inspection is "non-invasive". And mold mitigation can get very expensive.
