I am sipping my coffee right now staring out at the sun hitting the Colorado National Monument. No snow on the ground here, just patches in the shadows on the cliff sides. I went to an event last night and people drove over from Denver. Some had 7 hour drives up because of Glenwood Canyon being closed. I don’t miss the snow at all.

In the FWIW department

I was looking at my gas receipts last night and I recall the price of gasoline was just a shade over $2.50. I paid $3.40 a gallon last night.(85 octane) I would have suspected this come late March/early April.

Uff-da!

Suncor Refinery in Commerce City is offline due to damage from the bitter cold in December. It's not expected to be running again until sometime in March.

I responded to that thread. Lol. Suit guy is an amateur. There was a guy hiking up Bierstadt sans footwear, and a couple years ago there was a group of women who were climbing 14ers in high heels.

It's that time of year again...red flag fire warning and burn ban for Delta Mesa Montrose counties through Friday night. Wildfire near Grand Junction the other day and one near Telluride.

Another hot windy day forecast for the western slope. Red Flag fire warnings, burn bans, high winds and a blowing dust advisory this afternoon.
