The next several days will see a few weather systems come in, the first being tomorrow morning in the Four Corners/San Juan area, the next one comes in Friday night and the Western slope will see most of the counties get it good. I just came back from Denver this afternoon and yea, we need the snow for sure.

That first one is a fast mover; it just blew across Phoenix two hours ago and is already at the border with NM. Duck.

One week later and it is the same forecast w/ one extra item--avalanches. Conditions are ripe for them and in fact Wolf Creek pass was closed a couple different times for the CDOT crews to clean up.

i70 closed from georgetown to avon with the exception of the small section between frisco and copper. Loveland, Monarch, Rabbit Ear and Berthound passes all closed. People are still trying to get to the ski resorts. I wonder what CDOT is thinking.

Snowpack levels as of 01 FEB 2024

Should get a nice boost this weekend and next week as major storms come in off the Pacific.

Light rain, then quitting, light rain and quitting again in downtown GJ. The pineapple express is racing through here again!

The other end of this Pineapple Express stuff has hit the high country, traveling is difficult on the western slopes mountain passes. No road closures, but we're looking at rain/snow/rain/snow all the way to Sunday looks like. Which is fine, we need the snow pack.

HH, thank you. Here in AZ I'm keenly aware of snowpack levels and how it will flow downhill to Hoover Dam.
