Looks like they're remodeling the old Shrimp Basket. Anyone know what's going on?

A rezoning application has been submitted to the Columbus Planning Department for property formerly used as a church at 2744 Warm Springs Road, with mention of a new gas station.

This classifies as a minor rezoning.

The business will likely be a Liberty Gas Station, said buyer Minesh Patel. He declined to give further information until the zoning is approved, which could happen in the next six to eight weeks.

I miss the Shrimp Basket, and was surprised and disappointed when it closed. How many gas stations does this town need? I STILL think a WAWA or Sheetz would be nice!

I think this location will be perfect because the gas stations on the intersections of Amour Rd and Manchester can be difficult to get into depending what side of the road you are on!

After looking at the site plan some more, it appears that this will include Aldi as the grocery, and Holiday Inn Express as the hotel. The hotel will be built first, then the left and top retail/resturant and then last the grocery component.

I'd be surprised if they'll be able to get financing for a hotel any time soon. I hope they can as that is a great location.

I don't see why not. Hopefully by the time it is complete people will be over this Covid crap. Business travel is already picking back up. I am traveling for work a lot more now.

The biggest issue right now is those businesses that have large amounts of travel: Fort Benning, Aflac, TSYS and Synovus are still either completely or partially working from home. Aflac won't return until "at least" end of the summer, TSYS is doing 1 week at office, 1 week at home (last I heard), Synovus is limited to office staff and Fort Benning is having no graduations, and travel (even more restrictions added this week)

I hope this changes, but there are some hoteliers that will push forward regardless. We shall see!
