What would generally go on the lmi classification?

Columbus definds this as:

Quote:
Property used for warehousing, distribution, trucking and light manufacturing, which are primary uses
The site plan shows up to 21,000 addition available for business to grow on lot next to Best Buy building. It's listed on the site plan as "Columbus Center"

I'm happy to see any vacant building get repurposed. Speaking of which, the old Winn Dixie Milgen Rd has been purchased and will be a an Asian grocery superstore. Hopefully they'll have fresh fish available.

I saw an article on it earlier this week:
The cool thing this article cites the Asian Supermarket in Opelika. That one has an awesome restaurant in there hopefully they bring the same to Columbus.

e on Milgen Road in Columbus.
COLUMBUS, GA- A big-box storefront in Columbus that has set vacant for nearly two years may be about to gain new life as a new grocer has announced plans to develop the store into an ethnic themed grocery store.

Late last week a banner was placed on top of the former Winn Dixie grocery store located at 5750 Milgen Road in Columbus. The banner announced a new Asian Supermarket is in the works for the retail space.

The Winn Dixie store closed its doors in 2018 as Southeastern Grocers announced the closure of 94 of its stores including the Milgen Road location. The 43,079-squre-foot store has set vacant since the closure.

The banner announced Asian Supermarket will be coming soon to the location. Specifics on the stores plans have not been made available as of yet. A search of building permits in the Columbus Consolidated Government Inspection and Codes department does not show a permits for work on the property yet. The property is now listed as no longer available on commercial real estate website LoopNet.

Asian Supermarkets are known for carrying a unique assortment of products that cater to individuals seeking products of Asian culture. The product line includes food and merchandise often imported from nations of Asia. Columbus is no stranger to the stores as there are Asian themed stores present in the Columbus market today.

Asian Supermarket has a location in Opelika in the Saugahatchee Square Shopping Center on Pepperell Parkway. The location features a grocery store and restaurant as well as sells a variety of ethnic related products.

We will continue to monitor the development and update details of the arrival of Asian Supermarket to Columbus as more details become available.

I was recently told that the Cotton Company, same behind the High Side Market and a few other projects, are going to convert the former Uneeda Glass building on 6th Ave. into a restaurant. Nice to have some commercial development on the other side of Veterans and really good news for those people who live right across the street in Swift Lofts.
