I believe Boone Jenner, but management probably saw it as a good opportunity to correct their mistake.

Well, CBJ 5th worst point total in the NHL, but they've also played the most games of anyone, so they are in reality basically right in the basement. Somehow, it doesn't seem as hopeless- there have been alot of close games. I watched them beat the Bruins not long ago, they dominated the game. But man they just can't win. Heard some crazy stats on the radio yesterday about how many times the Jackets have lost 20 of their first 30 games since their inception, basically half their existence the team digs themselves a hole immediately.

Fantili, Voronkov, Marchenko all seem like they have great potential though.

Jackets have potential, but the veterans they've signed to relatively long deals look awful so far (Johnny Hockey and Laine, and Z to a lesser extent). The Russian line of Marchenko, Voronkov and Chinakhov has been very good, and Fantilli will be a beast. On the back end, I think Jiricek will be a great second pair guy for years to come. Elvis looks better but I'm still not sold on him.

That 5 goal collapse against Toronto was pretty epic, not sure I've ever seen that before. I know they pulled off the win, but man that was demoralizing, felt like a loss.

well, the season is over and has been over for a while, but I gotta say I still love this team. The young core impresses me on offense. I think the defense is pretty weak overall, but how can you not enjoy watching Marchenko, Voronkov, Chinikhov?? I'm looking for good things next year. Even still, they've sold out a lot of games recently, pretty good for the worst team in the conference. I was at both games this weekend, both were fun even the loss to Buffalo, but man the win over the Rangers was a great time, fantastic atmosphere. If we ever saw consistently winning hockey or a playoffs, Columbus fans would really be electric at Natoinwide.

Then they shouldn't have fired Jarmo? Sounds like he's put a solid team together they just haven't gelled yet?

I agree, I'm not really sure what the reasoning was. I mean, yes, obviously an underperforming team, but you need to look at the whole picture. The young core is very solid. It isn't easy to rebuild or deal with some of these injuries. I would have stuck with him.
