Absolutely amazing feat, doing all that and not once having to reboot the server, AWESOME

No hard disk failures, no system crashes, never had to replace a disk due to it's small size in a little over 8 years, again awesome......

I do know a few Windows users who got viruses, but to be fair, they were all into heavily downloading stuff (music, movies, etc.), or they looked at porn.

Various reasons. Some like the "hipster" vibe, or the "youth" vibe associated with owning a Mac. Some like the OS or the design of the products. Some see it as a status symbol or as "being different" (not sure why anymore for each).

Personally, I use Macs, and will more-than-likely continue to use Macs, for the same reason that most people use Windows, and will continue to use Windows: it is what I am used to. I have been a Mac user since 1998, and have used every incarnation of OS X (and OS9, OS8).

There was a point in time when Macs where the de facto design platform, and they were marketed as such (Adobe, for example, originally produced their products for Apple). These days it doesn't really matter anymore as both platforms are capable. Since Macs can run Windows natively, and as such natively run all those Windows-specific CAD and 3D Drawing programs, the only reason to get a Mac for design would be if you specifically want to run a program that is designed specifically for Mac.

I would avoid getting a Mac if this is all you are going to do with it. While I believe they are worth the money in the long run, I don't think they are worth the money if all you are going to do is load a few games, Office, and Skype. There are plenty of non-gaming-specific PC laptops out there that can deliver what you want for less money.
Yeah I agree. I think I will just stick with my laptop.

There are zero viruses for Mac OS X. And don't listen to the lame proof of concept crap form the mouths of PC fanbois, which has never harmed even one single Mac. Unless the user did it to their own computer.

My Power Mac G5 is eight years old and still going strong. It's been running almost 24/7/365, since I got it, and has had exactly one problem. That was a failed hard drive.

My MacBook is three years old, and it's only problem is that the battery is shot, and I will need a new one soon.

Of course I know people who are still running eight year old windows systems too. In all cases they have had more problems then I have had with mine.

Q: Which lasts longer and has the least amount of problems, Mac or PC?

PC fanboi A: PCs are cheaper then Macs.

And why is it that PC fanbois always defend their choice of platforms, with broad sweeping generalizations about Macs, that can't be substantiated?

It's always half the functionality at twice the cost. Isn't that the most amazing round figure? What a coincidence, and the numbers never change. It's never Macs have 45% of functionality at 1.5 x the cost. It's alway half the functionality at 2 x the price.

Maybe if they controlled more than the 5% of the worldwide market someone might notice them. LOL

That's a problem your networking people can easily solve. Install an Internet filter and block such categories as malware, web banners, etc. We were quite busy cleaning spyware off PCs before that was installed. Now it rarely happens.

(I don't know what a micro-virus is. A MACRO virus is routinely stopped by asny up-to-date anti virus program.)

Sorry but this is incorrect. The first OSX virus was discovered February 16, 2011 and more have been discovered since. The reason there aren't many is because OSX is based off of Linux BCD. Old mac viruses don't affect it since it is a different platform. It isn't that it is more secure or impervious to viruses, there just aren't enough users to attract hacker/virus attention. Which is a good thing for current Mac users, they don't have to worry as much about viruses. Mac user's worst nightmare is if they actually become too popular and the new generation of hackers start paying attention to them. With the popularity of the various Apple products among teenagers and young adults I wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing more viruses targeting them in the coming years and since many Mac users are arrogant enough to not take any form of defensive measures some will be easy prey.
