2nd day in a row in September. Not common

In fact.. It's been since 2000 that we had 3-4 days in a row this chilly in September!

One of the coldest stretches in September in decades!

I never needed a fire inside 4 days in a row in September. Nuts

Wild... I don't usually need this for heat until mid October and this is the 6th day in a row in September. Wild

Coldest 7 day stretch since 1950.

Any of you guys with smart TStat have any stats for us? Have you been using the heat or fireplace?

Just how cold are your houses? I think the coldest I got down to was 63 and I don't turn the heat on for a few hours of that.

Thermostat programmed to a low of 64*F. I think I have a problem with the lower level Thermostat, programmed to 50*F, all of a sudden kicking on heat and I caught it at 80*F before shutting it down, good thing I was home, lord only knows how high it would of gone.

When I am relaxing inside 60-65° is chilly. Isnt it funny I prefer sub freezing temps outside but inside I prefer upper 60s.

if you arent active low-mid 60s definitely has a chill in the air inside. Almost everyone I know used the heat past week.

Very cool! Is that a new one? I don't remember you had a stove in the fireplace.

It's smart because an actual wood stove insert is like 3x more money and without a blower most of the heat would escape the chimney. At least this is sticking out so you get the convection heat

You should whitewash those bricks. You'll love it. I hesitated because I wanted the "classic" look but when I white washed mine I regret waiting so long. Youtube it

The woodstove was the first thing we purchased when we bought in 2007, Blower came in 2009, I didn't want any of it, Boss Lady did, you know how that goes. A few have suggested whitewash, we were considering selling (before everything fell apart), and didn't want to make changes that would be permanent, or hard to reverse, that buyers may not like. If we were to make changes, it would likely be Stone Veneer, and a Barn Beam Mantle
