I apologize I didn't see this sooner. I am so sorry and my thoughts are with you and your family. I am also a huge animal lover and know how hard it is. He was a beautiful cat and I love the chipmunk photo (my dog has taken to chasing them now). I am glad Leo is finally at peace and I hope you are too.

Jay, I feel for you-truly. My wife & I lost our beloved Goblin, a grey tiger tabby over a year a go and there is not a day-no- not an hour that goes by that I don't think of him. I have tears in my eyes as I write this and can tell you loved him as much as I loved Gobbie. What a beautiful boy! Stay strong, my friend. It is not easy. Never ever forget him-ever.
Marc

I'm sorry too, JV. I wasn't posting much when this happened to you and your family... I'm glad that your Leo is not suffering and up there in the "kitty cloud". (At the same time, he'll always be with you!) Thank you for being a special owner who treated their pet like family. I am a huge animal lover and supporter of many charities. We love our cat like a child, and have that bridge to cross someday too.

Hugs

I'll make it short...I'm sorry. He was a beautiful creature, and a velcro pet. I don't blame you for missing him so much. Reading your story tied my stomach up in knots, but as you remember everything he did for you and meant for you, smile at the thought, and maybe you'd hear him purr.

Thank you to all who are continuing to post here. It's getting easier. At least I can now look at pictures etc without a lump in my throat.

We miss him, of course and the house does feel empty. My 3 year old asked when "Leo was coming home from the doctor." Oh boy...That was a tough one to untangle and not instill horrible fear of going to the doctor for a preschooler.

One thing I have noticed, is just how much he patrolled his territory. Squirrels are now very emboldened to come on the back deck, the other male cats I've seen surfing the property boundaries come up to the house now etc.

Our little stray wouldn't hurt a fly, and she doesn't come in the house much so it's very noticeable that Leo's presence is gone.

I'm sorry to hear of your cat passing Viello... I just noticed this post, but if anyone else has a cat or dog with cancer, there's an excellent veterinarian hospital called Tuft's Vet School up in Mass. Cannot remember the town offhand right now..
There was an oncologist named Tony Moore, an australian vet who was excellent who worked there.

My sibling had a Maine Coon Cat who actually adopted him! LOL.. talk about lucky. what is their personality like?
Are they more brave than other cats? More territorial? They are good size cats, for sure.
