I actually really like it here in Stratford. I agree with pretty much everything that Stylo said.

Over the past few years, I've come to appreciate a lot about living here:

Walkability
Access to natural gas heat (freedom from oil)
Closely spaced houses = we know our neighbors
People are really friendly and non-pretentious
Beaches
Never lose power

Taxes and quality of education are the two big downsides I've noticed. I haven't experienced any decline in quality of life or any noticeable crime.

Never lose power? My business in Stratford loses power all of the time, as recently as last week. In fact, the power is so unreliable, corporate spending hundreds of thousands on a generator later this year.

Sounds like there's an equipment problem(transformer) in the area of your business. I have only lost power once in the last (at least) 10 years. It has been ultra reliable IMO.

You haven't really been the epicenter of any of the last 5 storms going back to the microbursts in late Winter 2010. Just wait!
