When takeovers happen, layoffs usually follow. As the article noted, it wasn't viable for Disney to have multiple animation studios. I wouldn't be surprised for those animators to be offered positions elsewhere within the Mouse House.

the demand for animation is pretty strong these days. I'd argue most that get let go probably have significant portfolios of work. Content is king. Either they'll do work on their own or find a place soon.

According to this article Disney i# trying to find them jobs within the company. I’m thinking with work from home these employees might not even have to move. Jay

Many of them already are. Luckily for them, there are plenty of animation jobs in NYC should a position with Disney not work out.

No worries. The original article said it but it was from a Greenwich official.

So the massive former JC Penney warehouse in Manchester, now called Manchester Logistics Hub, is now fully leased. In addition to JC Penney which leases about 650,000 square feet there, 975,000 square feet of the facility is leased to the parent company of Stop & Shop. Now Amazon is leasing the remaining 350,000 square feet there. In total the complex will employ 1,000 people. Jay

Point72, formerly SAC Capital Advisors, is constructing offices in both West Palm Beach and Miami. It’s Connecticut’s second most profitable hedge fund, and among the most profitable in the world. My other half, who has some direct knowledge of their inner workings, was informed of this in August and now construction has begun on a very large office space. She, anecdotally, told me numerous portfolio managers are relocating their families and the below article seems to jive with what she said. Certainly, it’s for tax purposes. But it’s interesting to see these companies relocate “to accommodate staff”. That’s some talent.

As of now, their CT HQ is remaining and they haven’t made any mention that it will change.
