Looks like Aetna is getting serious about getting out.

When Connecticut is worse for business than Boston and New York, there s a huggge problem.

I am claiming that. Plenty of educated people in Hartford area, we also do not have the traffic issues that NYC has. They will have to bump up salaries as well if they think people are going to be living any where around Manhattan. Of course they won't do that though unless its a bump for the executives.

The New York MSA is 20 million. Hartford is 1.2 million. Hartford better have a real deep talent pool with 1/20 the population.

That doesn't make sense because the entire population of Hartford or NYC is not qualified to work at Aetna. They are not hiring people off the streets. A person will need a BS degree at minimum if they want an interview. Extensive industry experience may be a work around, but a lot of companies are discounting that now too and the HR gate keepers won't consider any one without a college degree.

I bet this is just a rumor. Aetna would never move.

Which Metro Areas Have the Most Graduate Degrees?

Hartford and NY have about the same percentage of college grads among their adult populations, but there are more people with college degrees in NY than Hartford in absolute terms (obviously). More people with college degrees = larger talent pool.

More high paying jobs leaving the state which means more tax revenue losses. This is what CT deserves for not focusing more on its cities. Hopefully more businesses leave so we can vote more of those responsible for not taking enough action.

Stamford/Norwalk are bedroom communities and New Haven is just Yale
