Just imagine when that new mall by Route 7 opens....all the FFC soccer moms fighting for parking (while holding their phone and mocha frappachino with one hand while using the other to cut off the oncoming driver). Hopefully someone captures these 'precious moments' and uploads them to Youtube
I plan on checking it out for lunch one day the first week it opens. I'll let you know!

I don't get why such a big deal is being made of this.

There are two Lowes within a 15 mile radius of me (and a total of 4 or 5 in the Hartford metro). Good store...a notch above Home Depot on some things..but hardly earth-shattering.

Who is going to want to deal with the traffic insanity that Norwalk in general and especially that Route 1 retail district brings? Given how insanely tight things are in that area, you know parking is going to be a nightmare.

In fact, when I lived in Stamford 7 years ago...I found it worthwhile to make the 25 minute or so trip (at 8 am on a weekend to avoid the usual gridlock, of course) to Milford when I needed to stop at several big-box stores. Norwalk essentially didn't exist to me.

I did get a peak at the store from the front entrance when I tried to get in last week. Obviously it's new and provides an alternative to Home Depot. Lots of people will want to go to this store including people in Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport, and of course people in Norwalk itself. Traffic can be bad at times but not 24/7. For those that plan accordingly, I think it'll be a nice addition to the area.

And yet some use "its good for economy" BS. How about we stop building things in areas where it can't support the "flow" of things. I ranted about this the other day..lol

It's open, just went over for errands during lunch. Beautiful store, blows HD away.
Plenty of parking was available, traffic flowed through pretty smoothly, was in and out.
