The Fairfield Avenue bridge is still under construction. It's been taking FOREVER. It's been closed for well over a year now. I don't understand why rebuilding a stupid small bridge takes so long these days. Back in the 1960's, this nation was building interstates like crazy all over the place. But over a year for a little bridge? Geez.

The difference is that they weren't building a bridge over a busy interstate highway with thousands of cars passing underneath it. People think it is so easy to build things or that there is some hidden reason that things take as long as they do. It is NOT uncommon for a bridge over a major highway to take a couple of years. ay

Stop commenting on things you know nothing about. What makes you think it is different anywhere else. It isn't. Jay.

Thank you Jay.

NEP stick to taxes and let the bridge builders (us) handle the roads/bridges. It is not a CT thing. A lot of the time is consumed by environmental and useless paperwork. If you took out some of the government oversight you love so much work would be done in half the time at 70% of the cost.

Update!

I just drove by the Lowes site today, and they are working on it as we speak, on this freezing Saturday. The main structure of the building has now been built, with a roof, and stone walls around the parking lot. It seems like the parking lot will be elevated (above grade). In general, the area is extremely congested. It takes like 5 minutes just to drive 1/2 mile. It's horrific.

Was back in the area decided to snap some pics. Making progress but I noticed something.......

Say wha???

HORRIBLE< HORRIBLE Decision! Why build a wall that high on the street side??! Unless they think it will prevent on lookers from the already disgustingly congested area? Or maybe a security thing from South Norwalk Goons? It was flat land, keep things open people!! GEESUS.

This definitely doesn't have that Milford feel now. More like NYC being suffocated on both sides of the road blocked by bricks and stone structures.

You can see the building is built back there.
