Houston traffic congestion and crowding is absolutely horrific. Rents are now very expensive in the city, too. And Rick Perry is ten times worse than Dannel Malloy. How is that a desirable place to live?

As far as CT lacking in dining and restaurants.....are you freeking KIDDDING me?! There are hundreds of ZAGAT rated restaurants all over Fairfield, New Haven and Hartford counties, galore.

I'm not a big fan of Houston, and traffic is heavy. But I've never been in an I-95 type 25 mile parking lot jam in Houston. Traffic always seems to keep moving there. But then again they build infrastructure in Texas when it is needed.

I'm sure you will be glad to hear that Rick Perry has handed over the job to the new governor Greg Abbott.

Really?! Maybe I'll consider Houston now.

I have made the decision to quit my job here in Stamford some in the spring (after I receive my huge bonus), then give my 30 day notice to vacate my apartment and just move with no job lined up to a new place. It doesn't matter that I will deplete much of my savings, because those savings are useless in lower FFC anyway. Even after depletion, I will still be light years better off in terms of affording a home. I give up on applying to jobs remotely. It simply hasn't worked for me, and I'm only getting older. Every job I ever got, I got while unemployed and it worked out perfectly fine. I'll just have to make sure I choose a place that has plenty of jobs in my field (accounting) with relatively less competition. I'll have over $70K in cash saved up, so I hope that will be enough. I know deep down inside my heart that I will not miss FFC in the slightest. No longer will I be a victim of the highest income inequality in the nation!

I didn't say anything about your cities though -- I was agreeing with you about growth in Richmond, Texas.

Although I will say that mass public transit would be a smart investment in your towns

It looks even worse than Fairfield County traffic.

Good for you. I used to live In Windsor,ct and I moved to Houston Texas. It's so much better down here.
Theres no state income tax, jobs are plentiful, threes an abundance of restaurants.

Shopping is pretty good. The galleria has tons plenty of stores. Too much too name. Houston has 3 large malls but the galleria is my favorite.

There's tons of jazz clubs, dance, rock, and hip hop clubs.

The only thing Ct has over Houston is traffic and possibly weather. If you love the cold you will hate Houston because its hot all year wrong but the winters there are nice. Ct's weather is miserable during the winter though

The traffic in Houston is horrid and they have some of the worse driver's in the nation. The reason why there is so much traffic is that many people are moving there for job opportunities and affordable living. You can rent a luxury apartment for 800$ a month out there.

I only make 52,000$ a year and I live like a king. In ct 52,000 a year is just making it. I have a brand new Acura. I live in a luxury apartment. I made alot friends and i'm stress free.

Here's my apartment complex. There okay and affordable

They range from 800$ to 1200$ I think. My rent, usually eats up one of my checks but I still have 2 and a half checks to play around/save blach blach with.
If you have 70K saved up your golden. I don't know much about buying a house but I'm pretty sure you would be in good shape.

The housing is affordable. Austin is in the same state and its only 2hrs away. Austin's nightlife is severly underrated the city is gorgeous. Clean and gorgeous.

Austin has a bunch of rock pubs, country music and all that good stuff. I prefer the hip hop dance clubs but when I want to chill lay back I'm doing 70 miles an hr heading to Austin for the weekend and having a good time

I'm stuck in CT for the holidays but I'm going home soon. Like cutting family time short soon.

The only reason why I'm here in CT is because I had to spend time with the family. I absolutely refused to visit this area but I haven't seen them in 3 years.
