The bill has the support of the Pawtucket mayor and RI governor. If the legislation passes the RI General Assembly, it will be sited in downtown Pawtucket along the Blackstone River directly abutting Route 95 (where the present Apex pyramid shaped building is located) and opposite the Slater Mill Historic Site.

The current lease in Pawtucket runs through 2020.

The team is current riding a ten year decline in attendance.

But that isn't the problem. It's Rhode Island, so unless the proper hands are greased, it won't happen. They have been been talking about a new park for decades.

Worcester is also interested in the team. But they do not have a stadium proposal at this point and it may be just be a way for the team to blackmail Rhode Island.

In any case, I don't see Hartford as a realistic move. After the pain it went through to birth the Yard Goats I doubt the city has much appetite to go through any disruption. They city needs a few years of just enjoying the success of the new park and working on developing the surrounding neighborhood.

Businesses downtown are preparing for the August opening of UConn's new campus on Front Street. Should be good for everyone. Jay

This is good news, and critical to make the downtown campus attractive for students. It's such a big deal for students to be able to go to a vibrant area off campus. That's why it's hard for me to envision UConn's main campus before Storrs Center was built. I think it still suffers from that sleepy reputation to some degree.

Also a big reason why so many of the Boston neighborhoods are so vibrant.

Here is a great article on Millennials living in Hartford and how much they love it. I did not realize that there were so many young people living in the city but about one third of Hartford residents are between the ages of 20 and 39. So much for the myth that Hartford is an old-timers city. And the millennials interviewed do not see a need for a supermarket downtown which is interesting since critics are always complaining that there isn't one there. As one of the three noted, they use a grocery delivery service for major items and smaller stores downtown for things needed in between. Sounds good, Jay

One of the reasons that the new Dunkin Donuts stadium is such a big hit may be the wide range of food being offered there. Looks like you can find a lot more than just hotdogs and peanuts. Jay

Considering the headline of the story, you would think they would include a picture with more than one person in line.
