The barometer built into my phone showed as low as 971 mb last night.

I see a lot of school delays out there (trees blocking roads?), and some closings in the Hartford area (blackouts?).

While I don't think it topped Sandy and Snowtober, storm will certainly make my (milestone) birthday memorable......

Hebron (near Glastonbury) lost power around 12:30. The storm was crazy around 11 there!

The street I needed to use to leave had a tree down at both ends. The side I saw, you couldn't have more effectively placed a roadblock. Tree fell perfectly across the entire road.

I heard Glastonbury schools are closed. Just glad I am back home with power and internet! Guess we flickered late but it never went out.

Seems to have affected eastern and coastal parts of the states. I heard that power is out in hundreds of thousands of homes in MA. Schools closed, trees down, high winds through EMass and NH into the morning hours.

So.........

3-5" of rain in our area within 24hrs. No flooding other than poor drainage areas and some low lying areas.

40-60mph wind gusts and just some branches down along with leaves and twigs. A few bad trees down here and there... Some power outages & school delays.

Rivers looking healthy again..

Will we remember the hype for next time?

Power went out at 11:40 pm at the motel I'm staying at on the Berlin Turnpike in Berlin. Still out as I write this. I think Hartford's Brainard Airport was at 2.76" at 9 am. My sister mentioned no school in New Britain.

They must be doing better with the trees, I had to go in early to assess the situation (we did not delay, but closed) and didn't see any trees down at all... pretty surprising!

Yeah I noticed after I posted it that a few towns in that area closed too (though Danbury didn't close nor delay)

All may be well and good for you in SW CT but in greater Hartford, it’s a little different. As of this morning, my town was 80% in the dark. Many towns in the CT River Valley and east of the river were still 100% without power as of late this morning. I had a bunch of coworkers getting ready in the office bathrooms since they had no power at home. Last nights storm was way worse than Irene in terms of constant sustained winds and damage in the area (I live east of the river). It was loud enough for hours that my house didn’t sleep well.

I know it’s easy to dismiss a weather event that doesn’t affect you personally as all hype, but it was and still is pretty rough for some of us.

I would def not call this a bust. I fought water until about 130, but I am having it repaired soon so that is good. Lots of limbs and branches in the yard, no trees except for the one deeper in the woods leaning really far over now.

I took a ride around town and there were some really big trees down, parts of the town without power and plenty of closed/blocked roads causing traffic reroutes. I wish there was more or better coverage, I tuned to the Weather Channel for info because the World Series was blocking the local channel 10pm news. To me that was a pretty serious event, had a gust at my house register almost 70mph around 12/1230.
