The state is apparently getting ready to redevelop the site of the old Shakespeare Theater in Stratford. It’s been two years since the long abandoned theater was burned down by an arsonist. It was noted that there is no specific plan for the site yet. Quite frankly I know that neighbors of the theater aren’t really interested in seeing the site redeveloped since it’s pretty much a quiet residential area. That’s likely why so little has been done there all these years. I just think something productive should be done at the site be it another theater, a park or some other compatible use. Even selling the property should be considered. JMHO, Jay

One of our state’s most iconic yet simple restaurants, Abbott’s in Noank, is joining its sister restaurant Costello’s to open a new restaurant in downtown Mystic. The key to the success of both of these restaurants is their simplicity. They are both simple seafood shacks with Abbott’s featuring lobster and Costello’s fried seafood. The new restaurant will combine the menus of nothing. Sounds like a winner to me. What do you think? Jay

So, did they not do a positive control? You know, like science does. Make a tuna sandwich themselves matching Subway's method and ensure that it actually tests positive when made with proper tuna. The article doesn't mention that. On the other hand "denatured proteins" that Subway cites would not cause a negative test, but maybe they are trying to imply hydrolyzed DNA.

Subway ingredients IMO, these days should follow the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Miami building collapse is taking my memory back to L'Ambiance in Bridgeport in 1987. I was working in the city that day, not too many miles away.

I have been to Miami Beach twice, main tourist area closest to the mainland is 8 miles from building collapse.

More on the Justin Hartley movie currently filming in Fairfield County. They’re in Southport right now. Should be nice to see. Jay

Heres a compelling story of a family that survived the Florida tower collapse. There’s a slight tie to our state since one member is a student at UConn. Jay

We've already made our first Costello's trip this year

Ugh! Calling Subway "real" food is questionable IMO

I would fully support this if CT decided to do something similar.

Very cool idea for the wildlife!
