I was disappointed when I heard Boughton say he didn't understand why Oliver was picking on Danbury when cities have nothing to do with jury selection. Made him sound a bit defensive, a little condescending because he implied Oliver must not understand that, and maybe a little lazy because it showed he probably didn't watch the whole clip. Oliver's point was that people of color in Hartford and New Britain were getting passed over for jury selection and he used Danbury as an example of a richer, white town that somehow happens to not get passed over. This became a pretext to launch into comedic hyperbolic non-sequitor about Danbury. Come on, Mark! Stay with us!

Has anybody else been keeping up with the news about that escaped beefalo bull over by Rt 72 in Plymouth? I'm impressed that he's managed to evade capture for over a month now.

I thought this was interesting. I know Keith Richards has had a home in Weston for years now. It’s nice to see that he is there working on new music. Jay

Nice to hear he wears a mask in public, not that he needs one. His internal system takes one look at COVID and says "pfft. Whatever!"

Connecticut has five people this year on the Forbes 400 list of the four hundred richest people in the country. I believe that is down from past years where we had several more on the list. Still a decent showing. Jay

Bed a Bath & Beyond is closing four stores in Connecticut as part of a plan to close 63 stores nationwide. Not surprising but what is surprising is some of the four stores they are closing. The stores are Milford, Farmington, Danbury and Torrington.

One thing I’ve learned about retail is that location and market share are the most important thing even 8n this day of online shopping.

While Danbury is a little surprising, the company has a store nearby in Brookfield to serve that area.

Torrington is kind of out of the way but it is their only store in Litchfield County. The area is not that densely populated so it might be understandable.

The Farmington store is located in the very busy Westfarms area but there are nearby stores in Wethersfield, Simsbury and Southington. Still a little surprising.

The real shocker to me is Milford. It is on the very busy Post Road across from the Connecticut Post Mall. That’s one of the largest shopping districts in the state. They have stores in Hamden and Guilford but still I think they are making a mistake. Very strange. Jay

I was in that store two weeks ago, several times before, and it wasn't doing well. I think its inconvenient as coming from the west, you must go by it, all the way to road by Burger King, turn left, then turn around and take a right. DXL also seems to fare poorly there, relative to other DXL stores. Old Navy does ok IMO.All nicely maintained, so I must assume location harms them.

Growing up, that land was a Holiday Inn, and IMO a hotel was the best fit.

The main store has been many things since, including a large electronics store whose name escapes me.

Comedian superstar Adam Sandler stopped by Fred 06825 on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield to pick up food for the Jewish holiday. It’s odd to me to think he would be shopping on BRT but I’m sure other stars have shopped there too. Jay
