I know everyone is interested in the next 4 days with the holiday travel...as of the very latest this morning, NWS thinks (? we'll see - lol) that the rain will out of here by very early WED. They drop their rain chances from 50% very early to only 20% by mid day.

So if we are lucky, Wed might be a decent day (windy) but sunny and ok for travel. Thanksgiving Day still looks sunny/dry and near 50 F.

I stepped outside and did a double take. I didn't expect this kind of chill. Felt different. Felt drier and colder. The Temp "only" in the 30s so I knew it had to be something else....

Dewpoints in the teens!

Fell to 28 F in my area on the coast east of New Haven.

NWS appears to think that the heaviest rainfall will probably be over by sunrise Wednesday in extreme western CT... then be over for far eastern areas by noon Wed. Looks like they backed off on the wind threat some, so tonight should see gusts in the 25 to 35 mph range (maybe a bit higher along CT coast and Long Island). So 2nd half of Wed still looks decent for travel according to NWS.

Sure feels like its gonna snow outside. Is this the coldest day time temp we've had so far? Only 30s at luchtime.

That "blue" over PA is mainly sleet and or mixing with rain. Radars are only estimates of what is falling using special algorithms. I saw some actually ground reports of sleet, not snow

I was wondering why it wasn't snowing in PA today. Main Freezing line for 5000' way up north in Canada and pushing across CT now.

IT CANNOT snow if temps at 5000' aren't below freezing, unless your elevation is above 3000'
You would need some serious heavy precip rates pushing the cold air down to the surface. Map picking some up over PA with that blue pocket.
