We really liked Puerta Vallarta in Newington on the Berlin Turnpike. Not impressed with Dakota's steak house on Silas Deane in Rocky Hill.

Chowder Pot II is Branford; Chowder Pot IV is Hartford. I like the one in Hartford although I would like the DJ to get different TV themes for trivia (other than Miami Vice, Cheers, Magnum P.I., and Hill Street Blues!)

Default Best restaurant

My favorites are in Hartford. Dish, The Russell, Fengs to name a few. Just great variety in this town!

Anyone mention The Dressing Room in Westport?
Paul's Pasta in New London?

The food is half the reason I am moving back to CT!

It most certainly could be... I've never been the driver going there, and its usually a stop on the way to the casinos...

Best wings- Bidwell Tavern- Coventry http://www.bidwelltavern.com/

QUOTE]

No way. I've had Bidwell's wings several times and can attest that Sliders in Plainville beats the pants off of theirs any day of the week. Sliders has the BEST wings anywhere!

Napoli's pizza in Wallingford.

Maggie McFly's in Middlebury. Their spinach-artichoke dip alone is worth the trip!

I thought they shut down, but someone told me they thought they just moved... there used to be a shack on the Berlin Turnpike (maybe as far north as Newington, not sure) called The Blue Lobster. They had amazing lobster rolls. So good! And their lobster bisque, oh my! They had a few tables inside, but usually they were full and we'd sit outside. They are not in the same spot, but maybe they're still in Berlin/Newington (though I wonder if they have a "real" restaurant now and perhaps are not as good and cheap!).
