Is that kind of like marriage being the death of a single man? I need to learn more about other religions

You might want to do a little research on that point.

Uh, given that BCBW got it right later in the same paragraph ("...birth of his savior"), I think we can let him off the hook, guys. It was clearly a typo/brain f*rt, and if we start picking on everyone who does that kind of stuff, it's going to be a long list!

I agree, Kid. December is such fun for the kids, whether they celebrate Christmas or Hannukah. Sharing traditions should be part of the joy. Play the dreidel game and enjoy all the traditions associated with Hannukah as well as the story. Have Christmas too, with the story of why some friends and neighbors are celebrating. Have Christmas cookies and a present from Santa for all. Why ruin this fun time for the kiddies?

As a Catholic school kid, we had no secular Christmas decorations in our school at all. It was all about shepherds, angels, the Three Kings and of course the creche.

If a Muslim parent wanted to expose the kids to the traditions of Ramadan in November, that would be fine with me too.

Let's share, learn and respect. It can be done.

If there is a 'Holiday' party with Christmas decorations, who are we fooling? We can have a 'Holiday' party with both Christmas and Hanukkah decorations but why create a mishmash? Have two parties in school where all are welcome, preferably on different days.
