Seems a few short months ago there was a post in this forum asking whether or not the OP should buy a product, or would it soon be replaced.

Popular Mechanics gives us a couple of links to check into a product's shelf life... is it new or about to expire.

I watch for this. My current laptop was an "out dated" model that previously sold for $300 more than I paid for it. That was a couple of years ago. It's still the fastest computer in the house...
