#1. Over 90% of mass shootings have happened in gun-free zones.
#2. Whenever there's a mass shooting, it makes the national news right away.
#3. When a gun is used to STOP a mass shooting, it rarely makes the news.
Did you hear about the guy in Plymouth, PA that stopped a mass shooting? If you're not from NE PA, you probably didn't.
An armed patron stopped a gunman's shooting rampage early Sunday outside a Plymouth bar, shooting the suspect multiple times on East Main Street after he fatally shot one man and critically wounded another, arrest papers revealed.
Investigators said the suspect William J. Allabaugh, 25, shot a man in the head inside Bonnie's Food and Spirits just before 2 a.m., then fatally shot another customer outside the 133 E. Main St. pub.
When Mr. Allabaugh pointed his semi-automatic pistol at another patron, the man, Mark Ktytor, pulled his own gun and fired multiple rounds at Mr. Allabaugh, according to arrest papers. The shots left Mr. Allabaugh with critical injuries, police said.
There are also millions of males that don't want to sign up for selective service, but we do because we have to. Every male between 17-45 is, by default, a member of the militia. Many states have the same definition in their code of laws, so this isn't only true at the federal level.
So if every male between 17 and 45 is part of the militia, then all these males should own guns? What if they don't want to own a gun?
BTW, a 17 year old needs parental permission to join the military.
How many here knew that just months before the Aurora theater psych-ops, I mean shooting that there was a church shooting in Aurora? Two fatalities, I believe....the first victim and the shooter, a church member with a CCW stopped the shooter after only one victim....
This thread right here is the reason why Americans are viewed as Dumb by the rest of the world.
Too many gun deaths? Answer - MORE GUNS!!!
Duh!
It probably is, but not for the reason you think. The thread title is sensational, hyperbole, and just plain wrong. Yes the OP lied to you in his thread title (in regards to psychiatric wards). If you bothered to go beyond the title you would have realized this.
Now "the rest of the world" likewise is also exposed to this sentationalism, distortions, half-truths, or just plane lies via the media, Hollywood, and the internet. Yeah I truly believe that many Europeans think an average American dodges bullets as soon as they go out the front door.
But, by believing the distorted hype - who is exactly the dumb ones?
I don't get why people think "stricter gun LAWS" is going to prevent criminals from getting access to guns when a criminals main purpose is to violate LAWS. Do they think the criminals will magically keep this one?
I'm just following the example of Roger Ailes and Faux "News"

The archetype of the whirlwind of lies...as fox would state " has anyone in the gov's office denied that they would not allow inpatients of psych. wards to have guns?" Of course not, but the way the statement is framed indicates they would be armed...classic Fox News operating standards. Any story they report is authored to ensure vital parts are left out...kinda grinds your coffe, don't it?

Wait a second. You posted "guns to be allowed in psychiatrics wards" specifically because you didn't see any new report saying they weren't allowed and thus automatically assumed they are alllowed? You assume, because you haven't read it's false, nothing at all even about the issue, then it must be true? Oh my God....that's irresponsible. Do you realize how much credibility you just lost?
The honorable thing is to contact a mod and change the thread title, then leave the forum quietly and with your head down, then retire your user name in shame.
For the record, Georgia's Firearms and Weapons act O.C.G.A. § 16-11-120 specifically indicates that weapons are not allowed in mental health facilities. That specific clause remains unchanged.
More mass shootings in Georgia...guns to be allowed in psychiatric wards and day care!

More mass shootings in Georgia? Where? I must've missed that news report.
We do know that the second part of the hysterical thread title isn't true.
