Pony up. Or else. Simple as that. If he prices himself out, a competitor will come along.

It sucks but that's life.
The best part is that it's not a free market, as the FDA awards long term patents and exclusivity.

It doesn't matter, because Medicare/ Medicaid and the Health Insurers will not pay these crazy prices anyway.

How is he not in jail? Seriously?

Hacking a rival? That should be jail time and a heavy fine. That's stealing someone's livelihood. What they've worked hard for.

I am thinking there is more to this story with this guy. Maybe he wants to kill people? He is going to and maybe that is the real plan. A power trip that ends up murdering people with AIDS. No one would raise a price that much and be thinking it will work out in the end.

One thing I have learned about the medical field. No one want to find cures anymore, they want to find a medication to treat symptoms because that way they get their monthly check. Finding a cure isn't good business. It is pretty sickening, but what can anyone do? Best advice I can give anyone is don't get sick or you are going to be on the payment plan.

There is no reason to talk of extremes. In order to protect the management of life saving drugs from immature and greedy children like this guy we need increased regulation. I'd love to believe that an anarchist free market is the solution to all our problems and will eventually result in all of us being rich--but to anyone with intelligence that is not the case. The free market needs to be regulated.

Someone with AIDS is likely to infect this soul-less freak.

My understanding is a Drug Patent is 20 years, This is a 62 year old drug, So If someone else wants to make it they can.

Is there enough of a market for someone else to spend the millions to get FDA, sign off on the CopyCat Drug,

Set up to make it, Market it, Sell it?

The GOP doesn't want any regulation, so what can we do about it? Price gouging is part of the "free market" so we just have to live with the likes of this greedy guy. Not to worry for most people, because most people aren't sick, so it doesn't effect them. Keep voting for the people that are okay with this stuff. Just stay healthy.

If i had AIDS i would make it my life mission to hunt this guy down, completely sickening behavior. Business and humanity are not the same thing but they need to intersect at some point. How would you feel if hypothetically Warren Buffet bought the water rights to NYC and started charging $15/gallon? Its really no different at heart, this guy is charging an exorbitant price for something people need for no reason other than greed.

If anyone thinks this is acceptable, there is something deeply & profoundly wrong with them.
