^ TRUTH. Wouldn't it be nice if the gun community gould police itself this way? Yet for every 1 comment like this, there are 2-4 more saying stuff like:
What can you really do? This is a much bigger issue than guns in general. It's obvious that the people in that thread have some serious issues and feel it's perfectly fine, and even necessary, to commit heinous acts of violence.
That's what needs to be addressed.
You can ban guns 100% but it's not going to stop the train of though that was snowballing in that thread the OP posted. The hate is still going to exist.

I noticed there were actually some "sane" people telling this devil not to do it for various reasons. One would have to be fairly disturbed already to be in any of those continuous conversations on a website like that.

I don't agree with it, but their reasoning is that if they have to hurt why shouldn't the people who hurt them also hurt?
There's a tacit recognization in your post of the same phenomenon many of these people are suffering. At one time survival of the fittest dicttated that the fittest amongst us were those with skills that could get jobs. At some point in the last 50 years ago or so the fittest became those with the best social skills. The problem is lacking job skills is something that can be easily alleviated. Out society built many institutions to help people get job skills because it was so important. Nowadays though if you are a guy who lacks social skills you're pretty much screwed. You can kiss goodbye any chance of getting a relationship, family, or even having a sense of belonging in your community,many there are pretty much no way to learn social skills as an adult. One of the reasons the pickup artist community and their terminology of alphas and betas are so prevalent amongst the red pill guys, men good night their own wY, and whatnot is that that is the only group trying to to give guys lacking social skills a way to hack their way into a relationship.

Basically, in the pick up artist community it is a term for a guy who can't ever get with a somewhat desirable woman.
Those killers have no conscious, are consumed with evil thoughts, are mentally unstable, and obviously have no concern for anyone, including themselves.
Where does it stem from? There are many that will say they're driven by Satan; others claim mental illness; and yet others may say that many who are obsessed with violent video games end up believing those games are the 'real' world. And the world the rest of us know is surreal for them. They've killed so many in the video games that to continue on that path with people is nothing more than a continuation of the online game.
Might as well ask why so-called 'normal' people in our country end up joining the ISIS movement.
